Background

Crowdspirit is built on the theory that collaboration now rivals corporation. Gadgets of all kinds (phones, cameras, audio, peripherals, etc.) can be successfully developed via open product design. The community submit ideas, the best ideas are refined by the contributions of many minds, funding is secured, and prototypes are developed.

Crowdspirit uses the power of open design and community collaboration to improve products. Crowdspirit plans to launch in the summer of 2007. Currently founder Lionel David is working on their community platform.

As NewAssignment.Net contributor Nichole Altmix put it Crowdspirit is looking to find how the "group think method is used to refine real world hardware products."

So here are the initial questions that we need to answer:

How will Crowspirit's product development process work?

What are the obstacles of collaborative design and production?

What are the expectations of the Crowdspirit project?

Open source software development has proven itself successful, but is it realistic to crowdsource the design of technology related products?
