Wu Ming Foundation is a group of five writers based in Bologna, Italy. They have published many crowsourced books from 2001 to now:

2003: Negro alquitran is a collective novel (in Spanish) about the Prestige oil spill in Galicia
2003: La Ballatta di Corazza is an "open source story" from which a cartoon, a crowdsourced situational music and a theatral adptation were born.
2001/2002: Ti chiamerĂ² Russell is the title of the paper version of the crowdsourced work "Total Novel". It was published with second versions of some chapters, given the idea of "what could have been" .
2004: Il sorriso del Presidente (a rtf version here) is a novel by Ermete Treré, a "GMW (genetically modified writer)", actually two real writers + Wu Ming + n people
2004: La stanza mnemonica: here the challenge is to write pages 79 and 81 lost in a rare book, having page 80
2005: La prima volta che ho visto i fascisti is a non-fiction book collecting individual experiences about "The first time I've seen a fascist". The book is here.
2007: The last book by Wu Ming, Manituana, has been launched on 20th March 2007, three days ago, through Einaudi, a prestigious book editor in Italy. I knew that just few minutes ago, so I can say only what I found in the book site. It is presented as the first book of a trilogy about XVIIth century. It is not a crowsourced novel, as the author is Wu Ming himself, hence five writers. But reading the book you would discover a password that, from 27th March, will allow you the entrance to level 2 in the site, with the aim to "broaden the book's universe, and meet writers and readers in a non-trivial way". Maybe it has something to do with crowdsourcing the rest of the trilogy, but we have to wait still 4 days. And read the book to get the password!
